‘Test piece’ 2018

This work was more of a ‘technical excercise’ in that I wanted to see if I could use a photo-copy transfer method as a way to start a painting. Developing play between the autographic and photographic I used five photographs from a book by John Berger & Jean Muir and experimented with repetition, close cropping and surface/depth tension.
